YMCA staff travels to our partner schools either before school or after school where we work to elevate participants’ heart rates to the exercise level for 60 minutes. We use the C.A.T.C.H. curriculum, which specializes in keeping kids moving. We work to make sure everyone is active the whole time by updating some classic games to engage all kids. We incorporate healthy food talk encouraging the kids to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and to drink lots of plain water every day. The participants work on team building skills, motor skills, sportsmanship, leadership, and increasing their fitness levels.
